The Character of Handmade Wood

Each completed piece is unique, and is intended to be a collectible, heritage-quality object that can be lived-in, loved, and passed through generations. Subtle variations in proportion, joinery, surface texture and finish are natural evidence of the handcrafted process and are a part of the piece’s history and character.

Wood is a living, natural material. Variations in grain, tone, knots and other organic characteristics make each piece even more unique. Solid wood may also expand, contract or shift subtly in response to seasonal changes in temperature and humidity. This level of movement is part of the character and individuality of an original, studio-made wood object.

Cherry wood and the brass maker’s mark will naturally darken and patina over time. These materials were selected intentionally for their ever-changing nature and ability to contribute to the story of each object.

Ledger and Registration
